I'm constantly being asked how I get my eyeliner to look so perfect, especially with a "wing", which is kind of my signature look. My answer is usually this: when applying eyeliner, resting your elbow on a flat surface helps with the steadiness of your hand. Also, breaking the eyeliner down into a few short strokes instead of one quick swipe will help with a cleaner line. Lastly, start practicing using a pencil liner before working your way up to a liquid or cream.
Recently, I came across a really cool idea of how to apply eyeliner with an EYELASH CURLER, which is a staple in every person's makeup kit... so needless to say, I had to share! Refer to the photo which will give you a visualization on how to break it down into 4 easy steps.
1- With a pencil eyeliner, draw a clean line on the base of your eyelash curler, the width should be as thick/thin as you want it to appear on your eyelid. (Tip: If the pencil is too sharp, you may have a problem with having the makeup stick to the eyelash curler: rub the sharp tip into your skin to flatten it slightly. The heat from your skin will create a slightly creamy texture which will also help it stick)
2- Use the eyelash curler as you normally would, clamping your lashes but then press it into your eyelid for about 20 seconds. (Tip: Pulling your eyebrow up while pressing helps with getting the inner/outer corners)
3- Release the eyelash curler and there you have it! If the inner/outer corners of your eyes were missed then freehand it and fill them in. If you'd like, add a wing by extending the eyeliner on a 45 degree angle.
